River flows and levels

River level and flow gauges along the Thames give you an idea of how fast the river flows and how likely it is to flood.

Click on the tabs below to see the levels at different locations:

What does the Sunbury lock water level mean at the clubhouse?

5.05m: water lapping over the step to the clubhouse, canoe drying area under water (all-time peak reached on 11.02.14)
4.95m: car park under water, canoe drying area a bit wet
4.50m: car park half underwater, canoe drying area high and dry
4.00m: the car park is dry, but the river is still in flood
3.19m: flooding possible in Sunbury

According to the Kingston Grammar School Veterans Boat Club, red boards generally appear when the flow is over approximately 140m3/sec and yellow boards when the flow is over about 100m3/sec at Kingston.
